Alexander Teachers Sharing

Saturday 21st February and Sunday 22nd February 2015

Abbotsford Convent, Melbourne

10.00am to 5.00pm with an hour for lunch

Jan 2015 Update: We have a wonderful program emerging including lots of hands-on, and workshops including working with students with chronic pain, Dart procedures, working with groups, working on different parts of the body – addressing people’s perceived need while addressing the whole, how to give a talk to get new clients, Fred-x Talks – 5 minute talks on aspects of the technique, teaching using Skype and other IT, monkey and discussions in “peer groups” where we get together in groups of people who have been teaching for similar numbers of years.   Why not not volunteer to present a Fred-x segment? – a 5 minute snippet on any topic of your choosing relating to FM Alexander & his work. eg some thoughts about a book you’ve read, an “Aha” moment you’ve experienced, some feedback you’ve received from students . .  . To volunteer contact Penny MacDonald – first in best dressed!

Join together with people from Australia’s broad Alexander Technique teaching community for a nourishing, community-building weekend of peer-support, active participation, chin-wagging, experimentation, work-sharing, hands on, fun, networking and swapping teaching ideas,.

Leave feeling refreshed, inspired, encouraged and connected

You don’t have to be an AUSTAT member or a practising teacher. If you’ve trained, or are training, with AUSTAT or another AT organisation, just come, share and enjoy.

$100 for both days     $60 for one day

Half price for students currently training to teach the Alexander Technique

Our two big, carpeted rooms in Abbotsford Convent have space for noisy and quiet sessions simultaneously and lots of good eating nearby– or bring your own.

We will help with billeted accommodation for out-of-towners and, if enough people book, we will use surplus income to offer a travel subsidy to interstate attendees.

Please let Penny know if you need assistance with airfares and billeting or if you can offer accommodation:

This is a skills-sharing event so we warmly invite you to offer workshops, demonstrations and short talks on themes that interest you. We’re also keen to hear from people who enjoy facilitating small discussion/work groups. We hope to be inundated with offers so that we can’t accommodate them all—this time round. Non-AUSTAT members are welcome to contribute.

There is no payment or discounted attendance for workshop leaders.

Every contact hour at this event can count towards professional development.
