How to use the AUSTAT library:books

1. Browse the library’s book catalogue below and select the books you want to borrow.
2. Request a loan from Jeanette Hajncl (print librarian) who will send your selection to you
         Phone: (03) 5561 2291
         Email: info@alextech.com.au

3. Read books, get excited by new discoveries, extend your teaching.
4. Return books in the pre-paid satchel.
5. Free book delivery and despatch

 The library borrowing policy is:
1. P&P to and from the library is paid for by AUSTAT.
2. Loan period is for 4 weeks from receipt of book.  Extensions may be possible at the librarian’s discretion.|
3. All full members of AUSTAT are eligible to borrow up to 3 books at a time.

As with many parts of AUSTAT, the library works on goodwill.  Loans can often be extended, and there are no formal ‘overdue fines’.  Some people have borrowed books and passed them around within their local Alexander Teachers’ circle before returning them to the library.  Books should not be loaned to members’ students or other non-AUSTAT friends.

New books come into the library through various avenues: recommended by members or bought on spec, sent unsolicited by publishers (ie On Stage – Back to Yourself with the Alexander Technique by Agnes de Brunhoff, originally written in French in 2012 and translated last year into English), or donated (ie we have early editions of Alexander’s writings, given to us by Erika Whittaker).   Look through the catalogue to see what is new.  You just never know what will turn up.
