ALEXANDER IN EDUCATION CONFERENCE 2020
“Inspiring the next generation”
We Are Transforming into a Virtual Conference
Alexander in Education conference in July to go online
This summer’s Alexander in Education Conference is to be transformed into a free online experience for everybody to enjoy. Social distancing and travel restrictions have forced the event’s organisers to rethink how they could continue to offer their extensive timetable of presentations. The new-look format will now see the presenters record their workshops at home and have them uploaded onto a dedicated YouTube channel that will launch on 4th July – the date of the first day of the original conference – alongside interviews, interactive sessions and a live-streamed introduction from co-organisers Sue Merry and Judith Kleinman.
“So many things are being postponed or cancelled at the moment that we were reluctant to add yet another event to that list,” said Sue. “Instead, we thought about how we could reach out to the wider community and offer a free resource for the global Alexander population to enjoy.”
Judith added: “This is going to be such a wonderful project and we are so excited to be able to open up this event to such a wide audience thanks to the wonders of modern technology. After the initial launch, we are also planning to add more interesting and insightful videos from other teachers around the world who would like to contribute.”
Full details of the launch event are still being worked out but will be revealed as soon as they are confirmed.
