Head of Training at ‘Sydney City Alexander Technique’ teacher training centre in Sydney’s CBD.
Teacher of the Shaw Method of swimming.
I started my Alexander Technique journey in the late 80s, shortly after finishing High School. From that moment on, the Technique has been my life. I soon trained in Sydney to become a teacher, and spent a further year of Post-graduate study in London where I studied with many first generation teachers. My next move was to Madrid, Spain, where I spent the next 20 years teaching the Alexander Technique exclusively. I opened the first teacher training course in Madrid in 2008 and was its Director until 2015. In 2016 I returned to Australia and started a new training course in Sydney.
Alexander Technique lessons
I offer private lessons and small introductory groups in Darlinghurst (near Hyde Park). I specialise in ‘hands-on’ practical teaching, and have worked extensively with amateur and professional musicians, actors, dancers, and other performers; sports people; pregnant women; and those who wish to learn how to avoid and recover from pain and injury or improve their posture, balance and coordination.
Shaw Method swimming
After a lifetime interest in swimming, I came into contact Alexander Technique teacher Steven Shaw, whose Shaw Method of swimming takes the Alexander principles into the water. Working directly with Steven, I trained as a teacher of his method and offer lessons to all ages, both individually and in small groups.
