Mindfulness, Yoga and Tai Chi

It is often said that the Alexander Technique is mindfulness in action.  Although this is only part of the picture, it does go some way to explain why the Alexander Technique is regularly practised together with other mindfulness activities.  Tai chi, yoga, and meditation all provide excellent opportunities to apply the Alexander Technique.  When we are quiet, we can observe more.  The Alexander Technique is a method of re-education and can stimulate your ability to learn emotionally, physically and intellectually all at the same time.  Applying these new learnings in a yoga or tai chi lesson is a great place to begin.  Gradually you learn to apply your new understanding in everyday activities and bring awareness and poise to everything you do.
