Event Details

AUSTAT senior teacher Dr Ann Shoebridge is offering professional development workshops for teachers at Wild Dog Creek Retreat, a serene bush property in St Andrews just over an hour’s drive northeast of Melbourne.

The next two workshops are on Saturday 10 September 2022, and Saturday 12 November 2022. Workshops run from 11am to 4pm with an hour’s lunch break. Each workshop reviews the practice of Alexander Technique principles in teaching, and examines challenges and questions that arise from the teaching experience.

There is a maximum of four teachers at each workshop, at a cost of $300 per person. Lunch is provided for a further $15 per head, or BYO food. Takeaway food options in St Andrews are limited. Because of distance, it is not practical to leave the venue to purchase food, so you need to be organised about lunch.

To book a place, email ann@shoebridge.com.au or SMS Ann on 0433497011.

Make a day of it

The starting time provides an opportunity for anyone interested to visit St Andrews Market, the local bakery, or Punch Wine Room before the workshop.
Market: http://standrewsmarket.com.au/
Bakery: Excellent baked goods, with a variety of sourdough breads https://www.alocalbaker.com/
Punch Wine Room: Locally made wines. The Pinot Noir is particularly good https://www.punched.com.au/wine-room-tastings

Public transport

If you wish to take public transport, you can catch a train that arrives in Hurstbridge at 10:05am. As the community bus is not running at present, I will collect you from the station and return you there after the workshop in time for the 4:40 train back to the city.
